The guidance note outlines priority actions in three areas to improve equitable access to groups living invulnerable situations

Resource Description

In response to the COVID 19 outbreak, WHO has developed this guidance document on how to support populations in vulnerable situations to prevent, prepare for and respond to possible community transmission of COVID-19. Within the document, vulnerable populations include: people experiencing homelessness; people living in overcrowded housing, collective sites and slums; migrant workers; refugees; people with disabilities; people living in closed facilities; people living in remote locations; and people living in poverty and extreme poverty. The document recognizes that adherence to WHO recommendations developed for the general population may not be feasible for people living in challenging circumstances or with limited resources and considerations for populations in vulnerable situations must be included in COVID-19 response and recovery strategies.
