What is this site?

The Gender and Equity in the Western Pacific Region Dashboard provides a collection of state-of-the-art data, innovative practices, country stories and resources to support Member States in the Western Pacific Region on how to apply a gender and equity lens to everything we do.
 

Why this site?

The Gender and Equity in the Western Pacific Region Dashboard provides countries and Member States a platform to build and enhance basic understanding of gender and equity, indicators to measure progress and regional and country practices to help move the theory of gender and equity into practice. In line with the region’s For the Future five-year strategy and vision, to become the healthiest and safest region in the world, applying a gender and equity lens is central to fulfilling this vision and in achieving the goals of the four thematic priorities set forth:

1. Health security, including antimicrobial resistance

2. Non-communicable diseases and ageing

3. Climate change, the environment and health

4. Reaching the unreached.
 

Who made this site and who is it for?

This dashboard is a resource for the 37 countries and territories making up the Western Pacific Region, to explore and learn from, to operationalize on the four thematic priority areas set forth and to strengthen efforts in applying a gender and equity lens to everything we do. It is a resource to aid stakeholders within and beyond the health sector at all levels to inform and improve policies, programmes and practices that are gender responsive and equitable.
