The Western Pacific Region is a region of great diversity. Home to some of the world’s biggest countries and home to some of its smallest, with varying economies, government systems and demographics, the Region’s strength lies in its strong tradition of solidarity, pursuit of a collective agenda and shared vision, to become the healthiest and safest region in the world. Much progress has been made across the region in applying a gender and equity lens, yet opportunities also remain.
